โ† DutyHourCheck: free ACGME duty-hour checker

How to export your MedHub schedule to a calendar (iCal / webcal link)

MedHub can give you a private calendar link (it starts with webcal:// or https://). Add that link to your phone's calendar and your shifts stay up to date on their own. Paste the same link into DutyHourCheck to check your schedule against ACGME duty-hour rules.

Find your MedHub calendar link

  1. Sign in to your program's MedHub site and open your personal calendar ("View myCalendar").
  2. Use the calendar sync option (the Google "G" icon shows the subscription instructions and the .ics link).
  3. Copy the link and paste it here.

MedHub calendars often hold rotations, clinics and conferences rather than ED shift times. Multi-day rotation entries are shown as context and not counted as duty.

๐Ÿ”‘ Keep the link private.

Add it to your calendar app

Subscribed calendars refresh on the calendar app's own schedule, which can be several hours. Check MedHub itself before a shift swap.

Check it against duty-hour rules

Paste the link into DutyHourCheck. It flags EM shifts over 12 hours, rest shorter than the shift before it, weeks over 60 clinical or 72 total hours, no day off in 7, and more than 6 nights in a row, or the Common Program Requirements (80 hours averaged over 4 weeks, 24+4, 14 hours off after 24-hour call). The check runs in your browser and the free audit stays free.
